NCOIL Releases 2026 Spring Meeting 30 Day Materials

The National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) released the 30-day materials for the 2026 Spring National Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky from April 16th – 19th.

NCOIL CEO, Will Melofchik, said, “This is shaping up to be another great NCOIL Meeting with the turnout from both legislators and interested parties being very strong.  We have a number of very timely and interesting items on the agenda which will guide thoughtful and productive policy discussions.”

Among the highlights for the Spring Meeting agenda are:

The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Committee will hear a presentation from Definium Therapeutics on innovations in treatments for mental injuries.  The Committee will also hear presentations on trends and developments in the Kentucky and Ohio work comp marketplaces

The Health Insurance and Long-Term Care Issues Committee will begin development of the NCOIL Model Act Ensuring Access to Eye Care Services and Materials for Patients Through Transparent and Fair Business Practices by Vision Benefit Plan, sponsored by Rep. Deanna Gordon (KY) , and continue discussion on the NCOIL Charity Care and Medical Debt Reform Model Law, sponsored by Rep. Tom Oliverson M.D. (TX). The Committee will also discuss and potentially consider a Resolution in Support of Public Policy Improving Maternal Health sponsored by Rep. Greg Scott (PA).  Last, the Committee will consider the re-adoption of four Model Laws: the NCOIL Telemedicine Authorization and Reimbursement Model Act; the NCOIL Model Act Regarding Air Ambulance Patient Protections; the NCOIL Accumulator Adjustment Program Model Act; and the NCOIL Employer-Sponsored Group Disability Income Protection Model Act.
