The key to NCOIL’s continued success is active legislator engagement and involvement. While NCOIL is an organization focused on insurance and financial services public policy, all legislators, regardless of their background and the committees on which they serve, are welcome and able to participate at NCOIL.
The best way to get engaged at NCOIL is to participate at one of our National Meetings during which dozens of state legislators and hundreds of interested parties gather across the country to develop Model Laws in insurance and discuss current and longstanding insurance public policy issues.
Importantly, NCOIL offers stipends and scholarships to help underwrite the cost of participating at our national meetings.

Legislative staff are a key component to ensuring that legislators, committees, and legislatures as a whole have the information and resources needed to operate in the most efficient and effective manner possible. To that end, it’s critical that staff are engaged in the policy discussions that shape their work and have a network of resources available to them when questions arise. Staff frequently attend NCOIL National Meetings to help further these goals and NCOIL encourages their continued involvement at its National Meetings. Stipends and scholarships are available to staff as well.
